Vision Issues and Chronic Upper Body Tension - I
with MaryBetts Sinclair
Vision issues are frequently related to chronic face and upper body tension – which bodywork by itself can relieve for only a short time. For example, squinting or straining to see can create deep tension in the eyes, jaw and sub-occipitals. Head tilts and turns can develop with conditions such as “lazy eye”. Working at a computer while wearing bifocals leads to the client acquiring a downward head tilt and a tight, reverse curve of the neck.
This is the first of two webinars for manual therapists with Marybetts Sinclair, US based massage instructor and natural vision coach. Marybetts explains how to identify some of the causes of vision issues and our clients’ compensatory reactions. This is followed by an introduction to a hydrotherapy and massage sequence for the face, neck, and upper body called a “Spa for the Eyes”.
