Working with Bowen and Meridians
Three-part course
with Amichay Saller-Fischbach
This three part course will:
Introduce you to the very effective combination of Bowen moves with acupuncture points, meridians, the inner organs and their properties
Show you how to perform Bowen moves on acupuncture points and control the intensity of stimulation
Explain the ‘metal’ phase of the five phase theory (ancient Oriental medicine) and its properties. The focus will be mostly on the „yin organ“ of that phase: the lungs.
Provide an overview of the acupuncture points (to be stimulated with Bowen moves) which support the function of lungs and protective Qi. Furthermore how to perform a so-called ‚root treatment‘ and the benefits of this approach
Show you how to develop a treatment strategy for respiratory disorders
COURSE CONTENT
PART I
Introduction to Bowen in conjunction with the Meridian System
This first session is an introduction to the use of Bowen moves for the stimulation of the meridian system and acupuncture points on the body. The idea behind it is not to create a new form of therapy but rather an efficient combination of both systems.
The content covers:
- Bowen moves in combination with acupuncture points
- Division of body areas
- Advantages of this approach
- Yin / yang relations
- Wei Qi
- The five elements
PART II
Selection of Points and Demonstrations
Session 2 provides an in-depth overview of the element metal in relation to the respiratory system and other body parts. A good number of acupuncture points are explained and the exact application of Bowen moves for a variety of contexts is demonstrated.
PART III
Application to Different Body Parts
In this last session, Amichay guides you through further application processes and adds some information about nutritional supplements:
- How to treat a shoulder
