Michael Morris MSc, BSc(Hons), MBTPA, MIAS began his training in Sports Massage in 1996, and later studied Remedial Massage and Manipulative Therapy with the Northern Institute of Massage – one of the most recognised and prestigious massage schools in the UK. Having spent time out travelling around the UK working with various professional sports teams, at national and international level, Michael’s attentions turned to the clinical aspect of the work in 2000. A qualification in The Bowen Technique ensued in 2002 after almost eighteen months of training, and this changed the direction his work was taking – from the ‘no pain – no gain’ approach previously adopted to the ‘no pain – all gain’ approach Bowen is capable of offering.
Michael started teaching for the European College of Bowen Studies in 2007 and now holds Introductory level courses and practitioner workshops throughout the UK. Academically, Michael studied a Bachelor of Science with Honours degree, graduating in 2007, and completed his PGCE post 16 teaching certificate in 2008.
Michael is currently completing a Masters by Research degree with the University of Warwick, looking into the effectiveness of The Bowen Technique of non-specific chronic, low back pain. He is based in the UK.
