Kirstin Schumaker is a Board Certified Structural Integrator, Certified ATSI practitioner, and Certified teacher of Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (formerly KMI). A manual practitioner for 20 years, she has been studying nerves since 2006, and she added arteries to her special interest list in 2010. Now all the myofascial work she practices and teaches is nuanced by her understanding of the neurovasculature.
Kirstin began teaching her own curriculum in 2013. Recently with the support and encouragement of Anatomy Trains ®, she has fleshed out her curriculum into two different certification
programmes, each one providing a different learning pathway: one track through the curriculum is for clinically oriented manual therapists (physiotherapists, chiropractors, and highly experienced massage therapists), and the other is for structural integrators.
Kirstin’s practice and her teaching remain strongly grounded in her foundational training as a structural integrator, which distinguishes what she does from the neural and vascular work that is taught by osteopaths or those who are using an osteopathic approach. Kirstin is passionate about sharing the nearly magical efficiency of Neurovascular Release for Structural and Functional Balance with her fascially and structurally oriented colleagues. She practices and lives in the
Portland, Oregon, on the west coast of the USA.
