This webinar introduces Biotensegrity and answers such questions as: What is it? Why is it so essential to our understanding of Fascia? What are the benefits of appreciating the role of biotensegrity in the human body? How will it enhance my fascial training and practice?
The field of Fascia Research is growing exponentially as more and more is being discovered about the role of the fascial matrix in the living body. How does it change some of the historical theories of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics?
Biotensegrity is the name of an emerging field of structural understanding that makes sense of how the fascial matrix is formed and challenges the basis of some classical metaphors. As a principle of living organisation it explains many aspects of how the human body is constructed that fit with – and provide context for – the new discoveries about the Fascia. Basically it helps to make sense of what we actually see and experience in fascial training and practice. This webinar will enable students and practitioners to enhance their portfolio of ideas and techniques by providing a context for the architecture of the fascia. We will go on to consider the details of its crucial role in our natural elasticity and resilience in the second webinar in this series. You can find all these webinars here.
