Pain is Really Strange!

Webinar Date: 20/10/2015 Time: 7:00 PM GMT How can we help people be in less pain? This is a really big question. The model offered in this webinar with Steve Haines is that there is always something you can do to change the pain experience. The themes explored will be
  • 'What is pain?'
  • A short history of thinking on pain, suffering and emotion
  • 'How do nerves work?'
  • Tips on working with pain in your clinic work
Pain Is Really StrangeWe will discuss differences between acute pain and chronic pain, how chronic pain is a mistake in the alarm systems, and look at research on how understanding pain and the nervous system is often the key to relieving its effects. Pain is created and maintained by the nervous system. Pain is much more that 'issues in the tissues'. It is a complex process that involves the whole history of who we are. Emotion, structure, faith, society, stress, body chemistry, movement patterns, and fear are all deeply relevant to being in pain.
